How can I benefit from Massage therapy?
Massage is a popular therapy that is a matter of touch. Our bodies respond well to massage and human contact. When there is touch, more healing takes place. These are some of the possible health benefits of massage therapy:
Improves blood circulation allowing increased oxygen
and nutrients to be delivered to treat areas that have been injured or
overexerted
May help to lower blood pressure
May help to reduce depression
May stimulate lymph and immune systems
May help to reduce migraine and headache pain
May aid in detoxification
Relaxes muscle spasms, injured muscles and reduces cramps
Reduces post-operative scar tissue and edema
Increases flexibility and range of motion
Stimulates the release of the bodies’ natural endorphins, which can aid in pain relief
Full body massage can produce multiple benefits to your
health. These benefits go far beyond your session. An increasing amount
of evidence indicates that stress and tension lie at the root of many
diseases and illness. Hence, if you are able to find ways to alleviate
or relieve your stress, you are preventing health problems from
emerging or becoming worse.
Here are a few disorders that may benefit from regular full body massage:
Arthritis
Depression
Post-operative recovery
Immune suppressed systems
Diabetes
Sleep disorders
Back and neck pain
Frozen shoulder
High blood pressure
When you choose a full body massage, you choose a
non-invasive procedure. In addition, full body massage therapy, which
is relatively safe, can be complementary to other medical treatments.
As beneficial as a full body massage can be, those with certain
illnesses or on certain medications should avoid the treatment due to
contraindications. These may be phlebitis, certain cancers, heart
conditions, skin problems, contagious diseases, and taking
anti-coagulant medications. To be absolutely sure, check with your
doctor first if you are chronically ill. Otherwise, enjoy massage on a
regular basis!
